
Nursing Foundation lab at SSMCN is a patient simulator or the practical area for students to perform all nursing procedures prior to the exposure in clinical field. The faculty uses the lab for various demonstrations of procedures in nursing. This spacious laboratory is well equipped with facilities in real ward situation along with patient simulator, cardio-pulmonary resuscitation mannequin, life form hand simulation, etc. There are mannequins in the laboratory for human simulation use by faculty to teach students how to administer care to patients. All the mannequins are laid on the bed with appropriate equipment attached to them. Nursing Foundation Laboratory offers the ability to provide simulation in Nursing education to challenge and test students clinical and decision-making skills during realistic patient care scenarios. Nursing Foundation lab at SSMCN is extremely realistic and flexible to meet multi-disciplinary education needs of the nursing students..

In Maternal and Child Health Care Laboratory students learn the basic skills of maternity and child health nursing. The laboratory contains various obstetrical charts related to antenatal, intranatal and postnatal care, including models to practice the conduct of labour. It also includes baby mannequins to practice nursing procedures, growth charts, and immunization schedules and play materials for different age group. The primary objective of this laboratory is to achieve excellence in basic and applied teaching relating to child health, obstetrics and gynaecology.

Community Health Nursing is the specialty that prepares the students to identify and solve health problems in the community through innovative and cost effective strategies of primary health care. The Community Health Nursing Laboratory at SSMCN is adequately filled with Community bags, Charts, Communicable disease flash cards and non Communicable disease chart boards along with the dummies for representation of gynaecological procedures.
The Laboratory trains student about:

2. Community bag articles & Instrument
3. First aid kit,
4. communicable diseases & its prevention
5 Water storage in community

Nutrition laboratory at SSMCN is equipped with all facilities for the students to assess the nutritional needs and to prepare different menus for various disease conditions. This well ventilated lab has the capacity to accommodate students for their interactive training in nutrition with all equipments including gas stoves, refrigerator and microwave, variety of articles and vessels for the development of skills in preparation of different food items, cooling, storage & preservation of food and demonstration of preparing diet based on the nutritional needs. The Nutrition lab at SSMCN under the guidance of dietician trains students in:
1.Understanding the nutritive requirements of the patient.
2. Understanding the diet required in particular diseases.
3. Understanding the nutritive values of various food items.
4. Maintenance of hygiene.
5. Preparation of normal diet and therapeutic diet for various disease conditions without losing nutrients.

The Combined laboratory at SSMCN is well equipped with adequate charts, specimens, models and slides. In addition to aforementioned tools of learning the laboratory consists of appropriate amount of written text, illustrations and photographs to provide better understanding of subjects to the students. The laboratory is very interactive and contains activities and experiment that enhance student's ability to both visualize anatomical structures and understand physiological topics. The laboratory explains all the bio-chemical aspects related to the field of nursing. Various equipments including microscopes, watching the slides etc. are employed in the lessons. Laboratory exercises are designed to require students to first apply information they learned and then to critically evaluate it. All lab exercises are intended to promote group learning and are also written so as to be easily adapted by the students.

The institution offers a well maintained ICT Resource Centre to facilitate various groups of the students. Computer practical classes and hands on experience are compulsory for all. The computer laboratory is with suitable configuration that are handled by experienced faculty. The motive for the use of computerized facilities is special emphasis on ICT enabled teaching which equips students to use information technology for professional growth and better teaching learning environment.

There is the facility of various sports like Football, Volley Ball, Cricket, Badminton, kabaddi, kho-kho, long jump, high jump, shot put throw etc. In addition to above, indoor facilities including TableTennis, Carom, Chess and other games are also available. Different games/ events are facilitated by College to our students for developing their physical and mental strength.

Library is the soul of any educational institute and one of the important activities as far as education is concerned and SSM Nursing College values these sentiments. As library is a part and parcel of every college, it is an endeavor of this College to provide best library facilities for the students.
